Work as a Personal Assistant

Personal Assistant (PA) roles are varied, challenging and rewarding. Every day is different, but you will always be supporting your employer, a disabled person, to lead the life that they choose.

PAs support disabled people to do daily activities that they may be unable or find difficult to do alone. Specific responsibilities are decided by the employer but this could include tasks such as helping around the house, driving to appointments, some personal care or even accompanying them to the cinema.

Previous experience isn’t always necessary with this role, as much as reliability, willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

Roles are usually part time, and are sometimes flexible so could be fitted in around other responsibilities – as agreed with the employer.

See our Frequently Asked Questions  for more information about working as a PA.

Please see below for current vacancies for PAs in Bristol and the surrounding areas – these are organised by amount of hours per week (p/w) and the location of the role.  If you have any questions you can get in touch with the team on 0117 947 9933 or email PAjobs@wecil.co.uk

Please note  – with all of these roles, the employer is the disabled person who you will be working for. WECIL supports the disabled person in this process but is not the employer itself.

Personal Assistant Register

WECIL will be holding a register of people interested in being considered for Personal Assistance work. This register will be made available to Disabled people and Parents looking for staff who may then make contact with those listed. The work is rewarding and enables Disabled people to have real independence and inclusion in community life.
