WECIL is committed to providing a website that is accessible to as many users as possible - regardless of ability or browsing technology.
This site aims to achieve overall compliance with the Web Accessibility Initiative's (WAI - AAA) guidelines.

W3C – Validation

This website is built using code compliant with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards for XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets.

With style sheets disabled each page remains usable.

The XHTML used to build this site is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional. This means that a formal validation of the pages on this site was successfully performed.

Text to Speech

On each page, the green speaker button can be used to read aloud content on the page. This functionality was provided by ResponsiveVoice.

Navigation Keys

This website has been built to allow easy access using either the keyboard or mouse. Keyboard commands are as follows:

  • Tab: move forwards through links/elements on any page
  • Shift Tab: move backwards through links/elements on any page
  • Return: Activate selected item on page
  • Backspace: Back to the previous page

Text Size

If you would like to change the text size used throughout this website, you can change the font size via your web browser’s menu:

  • Internet Explorer users: go to View > Text Size
  • Opera users: go to View > Zoom
  • Mozilla users: go to View > Increase Text Size

Change the colours

We’ve tried to use colours that make the words on our webpages easy to read, but we know that some people have trouble with reading text on certain colours. You may be able to use your own colours with your browser.

Alternative formats

If you would like any part of the site in an alternative format, please get in touch with us by emailing hello@wecil.co.uk, or calling us on 0117 947 9911.
