Opportunities for you to give ideas on how the Council should make savings

WECIL has been invited to take part in a conversations with the Leader of the Council about the financial constraints facing the council and to gather our ideas about how savings can be made.

You may have read the Telegraph's recent article indicating new research has found that council staff spent 32 per cent of their time being 'productive' - wasting more than two thirds of the working day.  The paper reported that the Government is introducing a National Productivity Programme which will look at how they can continue to make better sue of their staff but we want to hear your views of how else improvements could be made.The Council will be asking us to comment on:

  • How the council can achieve better value for money through efficiencies, more joing working or alternative methods of delivering outcomes;

  • areas of work that whilst important, could better ( and more efficiently) be delivered by people and organisations other than the existing public sector agencies; and

  • any public services that could usefully be cut back or stopped altogether.

There are various means for getting your point across:

  • Complete an online survey before 17th September at: Bristol Budget Survey

  • Contact us and let us know your views by 20th September

  • Express your views at : www.bristol.gov.uk/conversation or by writing to Bristol's Budget Converstaion, Council House, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR
