    Q. What is advocacy?

    A. Advocacy is a way of providing practical support, enabling people to make informed choices, to represent themselves and to get the service that they need. Advocacy promotes social inclusion and justice and helps to redress the power inbalance between service users and providers.

    Q. Can the CMAP advocate help me with my benefits?

    A. Unfortunately no, however the Care Management Advocacy Project can signpost to a service that is able to offer support around benefits.

    Q. Who can refer to the service?

    A. You can refer yourself, a friend or family member or another professional such as your social worker or mental health worker.

    Q. Will you talk to other people about my case?

    A. No, only once a consent form has been signed can an advocate speak or contact people on your behalf.

    Q. Where can I have an appointment?

    A. Visits can be arranged at your home or can be facilitated here at WECIL's office.
