  Here at WECIL we very much value our service users and we wish to make the running of Direct Payment Schemes as empowering, useful and efficient as they can be.

  Service users are those who have most experience of running their schemes and we need to know what you think and also give you the opportunity to share experiences with others.

  We hold Peer Support meetings in the various authority areas and invite Direct Payments Services Users to attend and:

  • Share experiences
  • Inform others
  • Receive information from WECIL
  • Make suggestions to WECIL

  Previous Peer Support meetings have discussed such issues as:

  • New Legislation
  • Employing Personal Assistants from abroad
  • Motor Insurance for Personal Assistants
  • Internet Banking
  • Independent Living Bill

  We are currently exploring funding opportunities so that we can facilitate more one to one peer support.  If you would like to be involved with Peer Support please contact us.
