Show your support during Learning Disability Awareness Week by fundraising for a local User Led Disabled Persons Organisation

June 7th, 2018

Learning Difficulties Awareness Week, 2018 kicks off on June 19th. Why not show your support and raise awareness by fundraising for a local User Led Organisation that is dedicated to supporting disabled people across the South West.

You can take part by holding a ‘ sponsored fancy dress day’ at the office or a ‘dress down day’, hold a 'bake sale' or an 'odd socks day'. There are so many easy ways to show support and if you get stuck for ideas our friendly team can support you. You can hold an event any time during this week, just let us know what you are doing so that we can promote your efforts across our social media channels and website.

If you work in a school why not host a 'non – uniform day'? As a thank you WECIL can visit you to deliver a Disability Awareness Assembly to your students. Our assemblies are interactive and informative and will ensure that your students come away with a greater understanding of equality and diversity. All assemblies are tailored for specific age groups to make sure you get the best out of them.

If you would like to support WECIL during this year’s Learning Disability Awareness week, then please contact Lara on lara.thomas-nel@wecil.co.uk or call her on 0117 947 9911. Lara will be able to support you with any questions that you may have as well as making sure your support is documented. If you can’t host an event during this week, then why not arrange one at a later date?

WECIL support thousands of people with disabilities and learning difficulties across the West of England, we would like to be able to support even more and with your help we can.

Call us today to discuss how you can be involved.
