Creating a support plan

WECIL has created a handy tool and website to help guide people through the step-by-step process of creating a support plan. You can do this by yourself or with your social worker, and it can be used to outline your needs to the local authority.

The Create My Support Plan website enables you to:

  • Make support plans and one-page profiles step-by-step
  • Prepare in advance for reviews
  • Find and rate services, products and places
  • Find creative ways of using personal budgets, direct payments and employing staff

It’s free for you to use as an individual, and there are tiered rates for organisations which would like more than one log-in.

Visit Create My Support Plan or for more information, email us on: supportplanning@wecil.co.uk or call 0117 947 9911

Managing Direct Payments

The My Support website is a great resource to help you manage your Direct Payments. It’s free to use for clients who use WECIL’s Direct Payments Support service, and includes:

  • Useful resources about best practice to recruit and manage Personal Assistants (PAs)
  • Templates to help recruit and manage PAs – such as job descriptions and employment contracts
  • An FAQ section about Direct Payments

If you’d like to find out more, or have any questions, contact our team on dpsupport@wecil.co.uk or call 0117 947 9933 (line open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).

Finding a Personal Assistant

A ‘PA Matching’ service is included in the My Support website, to support Direct Payment employers with the recruitment of Personal Assistants. Here, employers can post their vacancies, and be matched with potential PAs according to availability, location and skills.

It’s free for anyone using WECIL’s DP support services, as well as for any potential PAs looking for work.

If you have any questions, or would like to find our more, contact our team on dpsupport@wecil.co.uk or call 0117 947 9933 (line open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).
