Our young people have been learning how to get their voices heard to promote change!

April 18th, 2019

We are delighted that our of our Young People attended the National Youth Participation Conference for Disabled Children and Young People to provide the voice of our 15 members of Listening Partnership. There were discussions around what Bristol do well for Disabled Young People and how they can better improve the education and community services offered. A few examples of Bristol areas to improve were:

  • Accessibility and Public Transport around Bristol
  •  Mental Health Awareness and Education for Young People around Mental Health in schools
  • We need to improve how Listening Partnership are able to access information that will support their voice and promotion for change

Whilst attending the conference the Extinction Rebellion protest was underway across London.  Which was a fantastic opportunity for our Young People to learn more about promoting change through peaceful protest and exercising their democratic right to have their voices heard. This was a brilliant opportunity to educate the members of Listening Partnership on different ways to have a voice.

Overall it was a great day for learning and development for members of the Listening Partnership to participate in a National Event and have their voices heard.

If you are interested in joining the Listening partnership then you can email our Youth Services Team Leader, Matt for information about how to get involved.

There are no upcoming events.
